Description
Perched on the hill above the beautiful village of Ilam, on the borders of Staffordshire and Derbyshire within the Peak District National Park. This self catering cottage has been converted from the old milking barn and has been specially designed to be accessible to everyone. The cottage has been equipped and furnished with wheelchair users in mind.
Beautifully decorated creating a warm and friendly atmosphere, the cottage sleeps six people, in three bedrooms. On the ground floor guests will find the first two bedrooms, with an en-suite bathroom in-between them. There is also a large accessible bathroom on the ground floor. The third bedroom is accessed through a small staircase, on the first floor. There is a large patio window which overlooks the little courtyard, the walled pond and the farm land.
With stunning views all around the cottage it is the ideal relaxing break away. The cottage is yours from 3pm on your arrival date, until 10am on the date of your departure.
Room specifications
The cottage has been adapted with wheelchair users in mind, meaning that all doors are 880mm wide except from the en-suite and the stairs. The light switches and sockets are all at 170mm high. The heating and fuel for the cottage is included within the price.
The sitting/dining room is equipped with a TV and DVD player, a radio, a recliner chair and a cosy log stove for relaxing, peaceful nights in. There is also a dining table which comes with stacking dining chairs. Upon arrival guests will find a start up pack which includes organic milk, tea and coffee, salt and pepper, washing up liquid, dishwasher powder and kitchen rolls.
The kitchen features a fridge/freezer, a washer/dryer, dishwasher, microwave, electric hob and oven, and a radio with an iPhone dock.
Located on the ground floor is a large bathroom which has been specially adapted. There is non-slip flooring and a shallow bath which is 445mm high (with space underneath for a hoist). The bathroom also has a flat floor shower and a wall-mounted shower seat. The toilet is 445mm high and has left-hand transfer with pull-down grab rails on both sides. Fresh towels and toilet rolls are included.
Also situated on the ground floor are two bedrooms. One bedroom is a twin, equipped with two profile beds. The other bedroom can either be made up of 2 single beds or 1 super-king. This is to be requested at the time of booking. All bed lining is provided.
The final bedroom is found on the first floor, and can be either made up of 2 singles or 1 super-king, which is to be requested at the time of the booking.
The cottage also features an en-suite bathroom with a shower, washbasin and a WC.

- The owners encourage taking care of the environment by recycling when staying at this cottage. Here glass, cans, plastic, food, paper/card can be recycled, also the owners compost uncooked vegetable

Things to do nearby
The garden is open for all guests to use, which features table tennis, garden chess, sculptures, swings and ponds which all admire the stunning views of the farm. Within the farm grounds are numerous hidden gems where guests can sit, and take in the fresh air of the countryside.
For those who enjoy exploring nature and it's wildlife then the farm trail is a must, guests can also borrow binoculars to spot the different animals. Or if you're staying in the winter months, then sledges can be borrowed for plenty of fun in the snow.
