Welcome to The Disabled Holiday Directory

Are YOU in despair trying to find holiday accommodation suitable for US who are unfortunate enough to suffer from a disability? If so, I know exactly how you feel.

My name is Sian (Welsh for Jane and pronounced Shahn), and I have suffered since childhood with peroneal muscular atrophy (CMT). My own difficulties over the years looking through countless brochures at tempting cottages, guest houses, hotels and caravans, but not finding any information that would enable ME with MY disability to decide whether it would be suitable for MY holiday led to a sense of hopeless frustration.

On perusing the following properties you will find the answer to many of the questions that YOU and I have to know before making an informed choice for OUR holidays. You will find that the descriptions give full details of the disabled facilities in each case and are printed in BOLD for easy reference. WE want to know the details that will help US.

Just over eight years ago, after many years experience working in the holiday industry, a personal ultimate frustration of lack of detail led me to wonder whether I could do something about it and help everyone - and it is estimated that there are now over 9 million plus of us suffering from some sort of impairment.

After much research I was able to launch this Disabled Holiday Directory website. Still working from home, but ably supported by my husband John and Peter my P/A, this site is now bringing its own rewards of satisfaction. I do so hope that it will enable YOU to find the holiday comfort for which YOU are looking.

Thanks to the assistance and support of helpful, farsighted owners and agents we are now rapidly increasing our selection of available holidays, but it all takes time and we cannot produce everything for everybody. What you see is what we have.
