Wheelchair accessible Red Barn, sleeping up to seven, sympathetically restored by the caring owners, is situated in an idyllic setting on the outskirts of Rookley village, in a valley amid farmland and woodland, only accessed by a farm track, half a mile from the road. The large stone and brick barn is one of a number of historic buildings,dating back from the 1500’s.
The accommodation comprises large living area with high vaulted beamed ceiling. French windows lead onto a decked terrace and lawn, overlooking field with donkeys, backed by woodland. Living accommodation is all on the ground floor. The upstairs gallery floor is either an extra living or sleeping area. It has either one or two single beds as required
The living area leads to a dining space through to a modern, well equipped kitchen, including hobs, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and Dishwasher.
The main ensuite double bedroom has one fully adjustable, profiling, electric Volker bed, with optional retractable cot sides, as required. The platform raises and lowers for ease of care. This bedroom also has a single divan bed which may be fitted with either cot sides or grab handles, as needed, and has widened doorways from the corridor and into the ensuite wet room, featuring wheelchair-accessible shower complete with "Cascaid" shower chair/commode, toilet with optional raised seats, grab handles, basin with grab handles and wheelchair-height shaving mirror, plus standard mirror and shaving point. Full length french doors lead onto wooden decking overlooking garden.
The second bedroom has two divan beds, which may be fitted with cot sides or grab handles, as required.Full length French windows lead from this bedroom onto the terrace and garden.
Both main bedrooms have remote-controlled tv sets, double wardrobes, bedside units and vanity units.
The third bedroom has one fully adjustable, profiling, electric Volker bed, with optional retractable cot sides, as in the main bedroom. This room has a single wardrobe, bedside unit and views onto gardens.
The Barn is centrally heated and fully insulated throughout. A decked area with garden seating runs for the entire length of the property and gives access to the garden and gas barbecue. Parking for 2 - 3 cars

Facilities
The building has been converted with disabled people in mind – with many facilities included to ensure comfort and safety, including ramps, handrails, an induction loop and carefully chosen colour schemes to assist those with impaired sight or hearing. There is a backup team from physiotherapists and nursing staff, should this be required, and a range of equipment readily available for hire. Please ask!
A Hot tub can be hired for £135.00 per week (ask for details)

The en-suite master bedroom has a wheel-in shower, washbasin and toilet (right transfer).Rails have been fitted and a good quality shower chair is available, adjustable to be used in conjunction with the lavatory or as a commode. The second shared bathroom is also in the style of a “wet room” with shower, bath, washbasin and toilet. There are also two fully adjustable Volker electric beds. plus cot if required.
