Description

Hafan is a conversion of old farm buildings that the owners completed two years ago. They made a 1:12 ramp access for wheel chairs and provided a handrail for the more mobile. All electric outlets are raised and light switches are lowered from the normal levels so as to be accessible for wheel-chair users.

All doorways are wide and there is room everywhere for wheel chairs to turn. There are no dead-locks and all doors can be opened from the inside by easy pressure on the handle - even when locked. The double bed in the master bedroom has a body-conforming mattress (but no electric controls) which has level access to the patio, wet room, kitchen/diner and lounge. Hafan is adjacent to Bryn-Llys - a larger property that sleeps 14. That has ramp access to a patio level from which opens all five bedrooms - and the dining room -without any steps. The owners are constructing a level path from the Hafan access to the Bryn Llys ramp as they have had on one occasion a disabled person in Hafan as part of a larger family group occupying Bryn Llys. A temporary connecting path worked quite well for them.

Quite a lot of the ten acre grounds can be accessed by wheel-chair.
