Beneath The Minto Hills in this lovely undiscovered area of the Scottish Borders, this cosy and comfortable single storey cottage has been carefully renovated and furnished to a very good standard. Dating back to the 1860's with the original stripped doors and a wood burning stove, the property has a lovely ambience. Enjoy walks from the doorstep and lovely views in every direction from the enclosed lawned garden. Visit the nearby Victorian folly of Fatlips Castle and the spectacular Floors Castle at Kelso. There are four beautiful golf courses within five miles and fishing with a permit is available on the Rivers Teviot and Tweed, there is also mountain biking available at Craike Forest (17 miles). The Common Riding of the Border towns takes place annually in June and there is a riding centre at Ashkirk5 miles away. Edinburgh with its castle, museums and gardens is an hour’s drive and the border town of Hawick (5 miles) has a swimming pool/leisure centre and shops for everyday needs. For evening meals there is the pub overlooking the village green at Denholm, just 2 miles away.
Ground floor: entrance vestibule, sitting/dining room with wood burning stove and french door to consevarory leading to enclosed garden. Well equipped kitchen. 2 bedrooms, 1 double and 1 bunk bedded room with full size bunk beds. Shower room with shower, wash hand basin and WC.
Facilities: electric cooker, microwave, fridge, kettle, toaster. Automatic washing machine, iron/ironing board. Colour TV/DVD player, radio/CD player, selection of books and games. Bed linen and towels provided. Oil fired central heating, electricity and 2 bags of logs included in the rental. Enclosed lawned garden with patio area and garden bench. No smoking in the property please. Private parking for 2 cars. 2 well behaved pets welcome.
