Casa Ourico do Mar has been tastefully adapted to suit people with disabilities and learning difficulties. Pricing includes the loan of their wheelchair accessible Berlingo van or transport in our larger adapted Trafic van during your stay and airport transfers from Faro. The accessible villa has air conditioning (cooling and heating in the bedrooms), central heating and softened water. The owner is a wheelchair user himself.
The accommodation can sleep 6 and up to 8 people with the use of the bed settee. It comprises 3 twin bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms (2 with wheel-in showers and wardrobes). The larger wheelchair accessible bedroom has a height adjustable bed with head and feet raise and integrated bed sides, as well as a luxury foam Tempur mattress to aide pressure relief. The non-accessible bedroom has twin beds with ensuite bath and shower. Bed linen and towels are provided, as are the pool towels.
There is a large open plan lounge/dining area which includes a settee, bed settee and T.V. with Sky digibox and card showing Sky World Family Package including Sky Sports and telephone. The kitchen has an electric cooker and gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine (in store room by pool), kettle, toaster, deep fat fryer and coffee maker.
There is a large terrace with eating and barbecue area leading off from the lounge and kitchen (also accessible from car parking area), which has views out over the valley and to the sea - relax and enjoy the views and sunsets.
Access to pool and large terrace area is from the lounge via a large ‘straight in – straight out ‘ 2 x 1.1 metre Otis lift. This area consists of a pool heated to 25 C (May to October incl) with hoist (both seat and sling options) and built in steps in the shallow end. Pool side room with relaxed seating and fridge. The property is built in to the side of a very steep valley affording spectacular views and is therefore on split-levels – each level is accessed by a large lift. The top level is occupied by the owners. Guests park their car on the middle level where they have total privacy.
